2018 Reading Goals – Persephone Books Year-Long and Others

Persephone Books

With only a few hours remaining in 2017, I’m already feeling pretty excited about 2018! I’ve been thinking of reading projects I can pursue in 2018, and today I finalized my plans.

In 2017 I picked an author (Irène Némirovsky) and focused on reading her works year-long. I was wondering if I should pick another author, and do the same in 2018, but then came up with a different idea. So in 2018 instead of concentrating on a writer, my focus will be on Persephone Books. Just like NYRB Classics, I’ve been reading Persephone for a while now, but I’ve not made much progress in ticking off books from their catalog. This year I’m planning on rectifying it! 😉

I also plan on reading more short story collections. I read London Stories in 2017 and liked it. So I added five more books to my Everyman’s Library Pocket Classics Collection. I’ve got Selected Stories By Saki, Wedding Stories, Horse Stories, The Maples Stories By John Updike, and Golf Stories. I don’t think I will be able to read them all. But I hope to read at least three of them. 🙂

I also enjoyed my Vintage Crime readings. So in 2018, I will try to read one book every month.

That it all I have planned for now.

Wishing you all a splendid 2018 full of books! Love, Nirmala
